Ear, nose and throat (TMH) disease is a common disease, common in respiratory diseases in general. The disease often recurs, becomes chronic and is often related to weather, climate, conditions, and habitat. Drugs used in TMH are very diverse, can be used on the spot (spray, small, topical, spray ear, lozenges, gargle, throat – nose) or the whole body (oral, injection).

Use of drugs in diseases of TMH adheres to the general principles of treatment. However, due to the peculiar characteristics of TMH, the use of drugs in the treatment of TMH diseases should be noted the following:

    Nasal drops

This is the most common route of administration. Before nasal drops need to clean all mucus, pus stagnant in the nasal cavity by blowing, nasal rinse with physiological saline (NaCl 0.9%) or sea salt spray, the new drops have function. When the nose is small, it is best to use the supine position or the supine position to allow the drug to enter the nasal cavity. Turn the tip of the vial out and not to touch the nose, try to put it deep in the nasal cavity about 1cm, then slowly drop a few drops, should not exceed 5 drops. After small, you need to breathe lightly or lightly on the nose to make the medicine deep in the nasal cavity. Small oriental medicine products made from fresh flowers, leaves and herbs must ensure that this medicine solution is free from fungi, bacteria and allergens that cause allergies. Dropping vasoconstrictor drops to make airways open, but if these drops are given several times a day, continue for several days will cause drug-induced rhinitis.

Small nose must be properly used to be effective.

    Commonly used nasal drops include: antiseptic (NaCl 0.9%, argyrol 1% – 3%), anti-inflammatory drugs (corticosteroids, corticosteroids in combination with antibiotics), vasoconstrictors (ephedrine 1% -3) %, naphtazolin 0.5% -1%, xylometazolin 0.05% -0.1%, oxymetazolin 0.05% – 0.1% …).

    Small ears

Before instillation, you need to wipe, wash, and absorb any deposits in the ear before it can work. When the ear is small, let the patient lie on their side or sit with their head facing the diseased ear up.

Drops for ear in the cold season or refrigerated temperatures below 200C should not be dropped into the ear easily irritating the vestibular, causing dizziness and nausea.

The most commonly used ear drops are 5% boric alcohol, 5% glycerin borate, antibiotics, monotherapy or corticosteroids combined with corticosteroids. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) 10 volume units is ear wash water. When washing is done, wipe it dry. Not to be used as ear drops will damage the ear mucosa.

    Ear spray

Cases of purulent, foul-smelling discharge are often treated with ear spray. Spray a thin layer of enough medicine to smooth the inside of the ear. Do not spray a lot of powder that will block the airway, causing more damage to your ears. Antibiotics are most often used, mainly in the form of a fine powder. Do not scrape or crush antibiotics to sprinkle in the ear because the powder is not smooth, has adhesives adjuvants, filling holes, drainage, increasing the risk of inflammation.

The goal is to prevent, treat and treat pharyngitis, acute and chronic tonsillitis. A proper mouthwash is to take a sip of water or mouthwash solution, tilt your neck, open your mouth to cry … khkh..kh .. then shut your mouth for a moment. Do this a few times for a mouthwash. Do not suck and spit immediately, so does not ensure antiseptic. The most commonly used throatwash is BBM powder, 0.9% physiological saline. Mouthwash solution must have a slightly alkaline pH. Do not use mouthwash mouthwash to gargle because these solutions often have acid pH (acidity). In acidic environments symbiotic bacteria become harmful.

    Nasal spray

The type of mist spraying used in venous fluid is quite popular in our country with many different types and components, but all have the same principle: when spraying, it will be sprayed out in the form of tiny particles of medicine. These particles will enter deep into the nasal cavity, sinuses and lower respiratory tract. In order for the medicine to be effective, before spraying the nose, the throat should blow the nose and suck the nose or gargle the medicine to reach the mucosa.

There are 2 types of sprayer: the valve with dosing valve and the continuous type The type has a dosing valve when the valve opens button, the drug is ejected with a definite dose. The dosage to be treated is calculated according to the number of pushes. The type does not have a dosing valve, when the valve opens button, the drug is sprayed continuously and stops only when the hand is removed, the button will return to its original position and the valve closes. Note with corticosteroid sprays, do not spray several times a day. If chronic diseases need to be sprayed for a long time, continuously, it is necessary to monitor and consider the systemic effects of corticosteroids like when taken orally or injected.

This is a very common treatment, with good results for acute and chronic inflammation in nose, sinus-throat-larynx. The drugs used in aerosols are varied, so the choice of the drug should depend on the treatment requirements. The drug must not cause an allergic reaction, ensure a pH level of 7-9, the drug concentration is not too high. When combining various types, pharmacological and physical incompatibilities must be avoided. The amount of drug solution for each aerosol approximately 3-4ml.

Using essential oils or evaporation drugs at low temperatures, when put in a warm water bottle (500C – 700C), the medicine will fly with the steam, collect that vapor into the nose and throat to kill bacteria, reduce pain, restore mucosa Throat-nose.

Use a special steam bath or a cup or bowl of warm water to steam. Each sauna takes about 10 minutes. Every day can be fired 2-3 times, burst several days continuously. This method is simple, easy to use but works well with acute rhinitis.

TMH diseases are a common disease that reduces the quality of life. Drugs used in TMH are very diverse. In order to ensure the therapeutic effect and safety, when seeing symptoms of TMH, it is necessary to see a TMH specialist to be diagnosed and prescribed medication accordingly.
